The Created God

No one recalls, nor is there knowledge or understanding to say, “I have burned half of it in the fire and also have baked bread over its coals. I roast meat and eat it. Then I make the rest of it into an abomination, I fall down before a block of wood!”

How many of us serve a god that we created?  The Bible addresses this in the Book of Isaiah and many other places as well.   Isaiah makes it clear that created gods are not the true God and it is not to our benefit to worship them.  However, the one true God is the Creator and he created us - we did not create Him.

In the Bible:  Isaiah 44:9-20

Those who fashion a graven image are all of them futile, and their precious things are of no profit; even their own witnesses fail to see or know, so that they will be put to shame. 10 Who has fashioned a god or cast an idol to no profit? 11 Behold, all his companions will be put to shame, for the craftsmen themselves are mere men. Let them all assemble themselves, let them stand up, let them tremble, let them together be put to shame.

12 The man shapes iron into a cutting tool and does his work over the coals, fashioning it with hammers and working it with his strong arm. He also gets hungry and his strength fails; he drinks no water and becomes weary. 13 Another shapes wood, he extends a measuring line; he outlines it with red chalk. He works it with planes and outlines it with a compass, and makes it like the form of a man, like the beauty of man, so that it may sit in a house. 14 Surely he cuts cedars for himself, and takes a cypress or an oak and raises it for himself among the trees of the forest. He plants a fir, and the rain makes it grow. 15 Then it becomes something for a man to burn, so he takes one of them and warms himself; he also makes a fire to bake bread. He also makes a god and worships it; he makes it a graven image and falls down before it. 16 Half of it he burns in the fire; over this half he eats meat as he roasts a roast and is satisfied. He also warms himself and says, “Aha! I am warm, I have seen the fire.” 17 But the rest of it he makes into a god, his graven image. He falls down before it and worships; he also prays to it and says, “Deliver me, for you are my god.”

18 They do not know, nor do they understand, for He has smeared over their eyes so that they cannot see and their hearts so that they cannot comprehend. 19 No one recalls, nor is there knowledge or understanding to say, “I have burned half of it in the fire and also have baked bread over its coals. I roast meat and eat it. Then I make the rest of it into an abomination, I fall down before a block of wood!” 20 He feeds on ashes; a deceived heart has turned him aside. And he cannot deliver himself, nor say, “Is there not a lie in my right hand?”

Putting God first is hard this world has us entangled in a way man I mean you can get so caught up in the things that the world is doing that God is not first anymore we have so many justifying excuses that we can use to make it seem like Jesus our God our Lord our Savior can move over somewhere because we're so involved in something else but I was reading through the Book of Isaiah and the Book of Isaiah is super clear and now this is before Jesus has come to earth as one of us right now he's still in heaven Isaiah's writing about Jesus and he's used a terminology about God and about where God is in his place and how he's going to reconnect humanity with him because we've rebelled against him if the whole point of Jesus coming here is to reconnect us with God because right now we have rebelled against God we have left God remember whenever Adam and Eve sinned it wasn't just that they sinned they that was because they did something against God that divided them see we needed a savior because it wasn't the fact that they just sinned it was the fact that you basically they handed over the keys to the fact that we managed the earth God put us here in charge he put us here in charge of this earth he he also gave us purity we were without sin and we went against his we went against this program in fact some guy just walks up to the door and says hey don't listen to that guy and all Adam and Eve did was said okay what's the plan and he goes I'm go ahead and eat the fruit off the tree and they did and then all of a sudden we see hell we never would have ever known about the pain and the suffering that we're going through right now the hell that we lived through on this earth is nothing in comparison to the place of hell that that people that did not turn to Jesus Christ that they will experience so all the wrath all the things that are happening to us it's not just like gods up there throwing down lightning bolts no we chose to follow someone else besides following God so when Isaiah is writing he's writing about the savior that's going to come and the whole Christmas story that we teach is the Christmas story the birth of Jesus the death on the cross you can find this all in the Old Testament Isaiah writes a lot about this and then you read about the birth and you read about the deaths on the cross and you read about what all this means even before Jesus okay a thousand years before Jesus is going to come that's why it's so amazing because it's so perfect with the life of Jesus Christ that there people always say well show me some proof let me tell you something you want some proof read the Bible in the Old Testament and then look at the life of Jesus and see how perfectly aligned you say well anybody could have did that girl really go find a book and try to live your life perfect - that book that was written thousands of years before you - the T the Old Testament written over thousands of years with different different people writing it that's one big thing right there's different people at different times in life some of this was written years after creation and some was written years and years and years after those people are dead and gone there's somebody else writing and it's still the same story and then thousands years later Jesus comes to earth from heaven leaves the throne comes here as one of us and live the life exactly how the Old Testament was written and not only Jesus the Roman soldiers Pilate the the Jewish people now the Jewish people are you got a look at the Jewish people say well they knew the scripture so they could have went along with the scripture they could have said oh yeah Jesus has to do this and Jesus has to do that and we need to say this and we need to say that and we need to go out there with the olive branches on it and we need to do this and we need to follow him I mean you could say okay they think he's the Messiah this is what the old scripture Old Testament scripture says so in that in their case it would have been
